Food banks across the country are struggling to keep up with demand this year. According to Feeding America, the demand for food assistance has risen 50 percent in the past year. In 2009 Fast Park collected over one ton of food to distribute to hungry families. In addition, Fast Park also donated one dollar for every pound of food collected locally, to aid in the Feeding America’s mission.
“The food drive is a way for us to unite with our customers who are doing something very important for our community,” said Melanie Chavez who oversees construction and branding for Fast Park. “We are inspired by the generosity of our customers and it’s a pleasure to match their donations with a cash contribution. As a company we are always seeking ways to give back to the communities in which we are a part.”
